Her passion for disability advocacy, paired with a proven track record of building inclusive programming and powerful partnerships, makes her a natural fit as Executive Director of The Sandlot.
A proud Dallas native, Adrienne earned her bachelor’s degree in Marketing from the University of Oklahoma. Having spent the past eight years advocating for adults with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities, her passion for inclusion is deeply personal. As the mother of a child with a disability, her commitment to creating more meaningful, accessible opportunities for people of all abilities drives her dedication to advancing programs and partnerships that celebrate ability and expand access to inclusive sports and recreation for all.
May 20, 2025, PLANO, TX — The Sandlot Children’s Charity proudly announces the appointment of Adrienne Mageors as its first Executive Director, marking a major milestone in the nonprofit’s journey to champion inclusive sports and recreation opportunities for individuals with physical and intellectual disabilities.
Mageors brings more than two decades of experience in both for-profit and nonprofit leadership, fundraising, and strategic growth. Her passion for disability advocacy, paired with a proven track record of building inclusive programming and powerful partnerships, makes her a natural fit to lead The Sandlot into its next chapter.
“This is more than a new role, it’s a call to something deeply personal and profoundly important,” said Mageors. “The Sandlot’s mission aligns so well with my passion for advocating for those with disabilities, and I’m honored to help grow its impact and build a future where every child and adult, regardless of ability, can find belonging, community, and joy through sport.”
Founded by Jared Sandler, Texas Rangers play-by-play broadcaster and longtime disability advocate, The Sandlot Children’s Charity has quietly built a powerful presence across North Texas through grantmaking, community events, and unique sports experiences designed to celebrate ability, not limit.
“Adrienne is the kind of leader who makes big visions feel within reach,” said Sandler. “Her creativity, heart, and strategic mind will bring new energy to The Sandlot as we grow our reach and deepen our commitment to families across the disability community.”
Board members also expressed excitement about the organization's evolution under Mageors’ leadership.
“Bringing Adrienne on board marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter,” said Marc Andres, board member of The Sandlot. “We’re poised for meaningful growth, and Adrienne’s leadership will help ensure that growth is thoughtful, inclusive, and deeply impactful.”
As part of this next chapter, The Sandlot is proud to join the Water Cooler space at Pegasus Park, a collaborative hub designed to support mission-driven organizations and spark crosssector innovation. Mageors will office from the Pegasus Park campus as she leads theorganization into its next stage of strategic expansion and community impact.
The Sandlot's signature fundraiser, Swinging for a Cause, will continue to play a vital role in supporting our mission. We're excited to announce that this year's event will once again take place at Globe Life Field in Arlington on Dec. 7. Visit thesandlot.org in the coming weeks for more details.
